If you received an error message indicating there was not enough space on your child's device to move forward with installation, it may be time to clear up some space. To be clear, there is not a specific amount of space required to complete installation, so you'll want to be sure to make as much space as possible by removing any unwanted or unused apps, games, videos, or photos from your child's device.
We suggest performing a backup of your child’s device before moving forward to ensure that the deleted material can be returned to the device later. You can follow the instructions in this Apple Support article to take a fresh backup of your child’s device.
Then, please start the Utility installation over again from the beginning (including taking another backup when prompted), and when you encounter that error message again please follow the steps below to clear up space on your child's device.
The more content you delete the better! Everything will be returned to the device when the backup you just took is restored.
Please note: The backups that are taken during this process are saved to a temporary directory. When you follow these steps, please be sure to follow all steps consecutively and be sure to keep the Utility application OPEN and click 'TRY AGAIN'. (Please do not exit the Utility application and start over so that you can ensure the backup that was just taken prior to deleting content is the backup that is restored onto your child's device.)
- On your child’s device, open the iOS Settings > General > iPhone/Pad Storage / Storage & iCloud Usage.
- Enable ‘Offload Unused Apps’
- All apps installed on your child’s device will be listed in order of space consumption. Tap and delete the top non-iOS/native apps from the device (ie. installed apps, not iOS functions like Photos).
- Try again to restore the OurPact Premium backup to your child's device.
