OurPact Jr. is the companion app that is automatically added to your child's device when it is paired for management using OurPact's Connect application on your computer.
OurPact Jr. does not manage your child's device, but it is required for certain features to function properly and allows your child to be an active participant in their device management.
Schedules:
Your child will be able to see their daily schedules and upcoming blocks in the OurPact Jr. app. They can see all of their schedules for the week by tapping on the schedule tile on the main screen.
Allowance:
OurPact's Allowance feature puts the control in your child's hands to manage their own screen time throughout the day.
Your child will play and pause their allowance time and can see a timer of how much time they have used and have remaining for the day.
Permissions:
Your child will need OurPact Jr. to grant certain permissions for management.
iOS child devices will use OurPact to grant location permission for Family Locator. (Android devices do not require this permission.) After your child's device is paired with management, open the OurPact Jr. app on their device; you will be asked to allow OurPact to use their location- set this permission to Always.
Android child devices will turn on the VPN necessary for the Web Filter in OurPact Jr. (iOS devices do not require this permission. When the Web Filter is enabled, your child will need to open OurPact Jr. and tap the Enable button to turn on the VPN. When the Web Filter is enabled, your child's app access will be blocked until the VPN has been turned on.
OurPact Jr. for iOS devices:
iOS devices require OurPact Jr. for two additional features that do not apply to Android child devices.
App Organizer
Managed iOS devices are subject to App Scrambling, meaning that after their device is blocked, the apps will not come back in the same layout your child created on their home screen. To prevent this issue, OurPact has the App Organizer. This will allow your child to lock down their home screen layout. The App Organizer icon can be found in the top right corner of your child's OurPact Jr. screen.
Screen Broadcast
When you are using the View feature to monitor your child's iOS device, they will need to use OurPact Jr. to start a Screen Broadcast. Apple's safety measures require that the device being recorded (or sharing screenshots) grant permission for this action. The Screen Broadcast will grant this permission.
When View is enabled, your child's apps will be blocked until the Screen Broadcast is started in OurPact Jr. on their device.
